This concert features two brilliant violinists, Elina Buksha and Artiom Shishkov, performing an extraordinary program of violin duos.
The repertoire includes Sonata for Two Violins in C major, Op. 56 by Sergei Prokofiev, a masterpiece of 20th-century chamber music celebrated for its lyrical beauty and dramatic contrasts. Complementing this work are Johann Sebastian Bach's Two-Part Inventions (arranged for two violins), Gyorgy Ligeti's Balada si joc, a vibrant and rhythmically intricate duo, and Edison Denisov's Duet for Two Violins, a striking exploration of modern sonorities. This program will showcase the expressive range of the violin duo, brought to life by two world-class musicians.
