Join the Chamber Jazz Consort and acclaimed jazz pianist Aaron Parks for an extraordinary evening of music that blends the refinement of classical with the freedom of jazz. This unique collaboration will showcase special arrangements of Parks' compositions, designed specifically for this remarkable ensemble.
Aaron Parks, a celebrated figure in contemporary jazz, has built a stellar career with his lyrical and innovative approach to the piano. After his early studies at the Manhattan School of Music, where he was mentored by Kenny Barron, Parks quickly rose to prominence as part of Terence Blanchard's ensemble, contributing to Grammy-winning recordings. Over the years, Parks has performed with a host of jazz icons, including Christian Scott, Kendrick Scott, and Joshua Redman. His critically acclaimed albums, such as Invisible Cinema and Arborescence, have established him as one of the most influential voices in jazz today.
Chamber Jazz Consort, an ensemble known for merging classical and jazz, is no stranger to prestigious stages, having recently performed at the world-renowned Concertgebouw Amsterdam. Their debut album, "Blue in Green", has been praised for its imaginative interpretations and exceptional musicianship. Last season, the ensemble collaborated with jazz legend Lars Danielsson, further cementing their reputation as boundary-pushing musicians. With Anton Jakimenko (clarinet), Oene van Geel (viola), Sarah Oates (violin), Nadja Nevolovitsch (violin), and Eduardo Tonietto (cello), the ensemble brings together five musicians of different nationalities, each contributing a unique perspective to this dynamic fusion of genres.
