Get ready for an evening of extraordinary musical talent as we celebrate Misha Maisky's 75th jubilee with a one-of-a-kind concert in the heart of Brussels, presented by the Brussels Muzieque platform. Join us as we pay tribute to one of the most influential cellists of our time and his life dedicated to the art of music.
The evening's program features Shostakovich's Sonata for Cello and Piano in D minor, performed by Misha Maisky and Lily Maisky, as well as Bach's Sonata in C minor, performed by Misha Maisky and Maxim Maisky. To conclude the night, Sasha Maisky joins the team and the Maisky Trio will present Brahms' Piano Trio number 3 in C minor.
In addition to the Maisky family, Aleksey Shadrin - 4th prize winner at the Queen Elisabeth Cello Competition, and Eduardo Tonietto - cellist and artistic director of Brussels Muzique, will share the stage with Misha Maisky to celebrate the cello. As an interlude to the program, they will perform Handel's Trio Sonata in G minor and an arrangement of "The Song of the Birds" made for cello trio by Belgian composer Walter Hus, especially for this occasion.
